A perfume house is mostly patience and proximity — to the flowers, to the still, to the work.
Grasse has made perfume for four hundred years. The climate suits the flowers; the trade settled here and stayed. Ayse is a small part of that — one room, one bench, one fragrance.
The house was founded in 2016 on a single decision: make one thing, and make it completely. We buy lavender from the plateau above the town and jasmine from two fields within walking distance. We distil in copper. We blend in batches small enough to finish before the day ends.
We have been asked, often, to make a second fragrance. We have not. Premiere is enough work to do well, and doing it well is the point of the house.
